Beautiful hymn, one of my favorites. How is it Lenten? Wasn’t he Plymouth Brethren? Do they observe Lent?
I felt it was Lenten because it was referring– at least in part– to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross when discussing his deep love for all of us. (I am not sure if the people who wrote this intended it to be exclusively Lenten.) The lyrics seem to have been written in England, and the melody in Wales, at least according to Wikipedia.
Amen, Amen.
