Keep in mind that Kamala Harris was monumentally unpopular with the democratic socialist base when she ran for the presidential nomination during the 2020 election cycle. Biden whipped her handily. She was only chosen to be the vice-presidential candidate because of identity politics.
Now, media is abuzz with speculation that she might choose Roy Cooper to be her VP running mate. Cooper, of course, is just as awful as all the other socialists with a national profile.
He was a major league Covid tyrant. Regrettably, the Republicans refused to remove him from office when he committed impeachable offenses. And they gave him a huge victory when they passed Medicaid expansion. He is pro-abortion. He abused his power on matters related to permitting. He pushed the green agenda.
A number of other Democratic governors being discussed– Newsom, Whitmer, Pritzker, Shapiro and Bashear, for instance– were also Covid tyrants. So Cooper is roughly on par with them on that particular issue.
It must be noted that Cooper endorsed Kamala for president within the last few hours. Gee, I wonder why he did that:
