It turned out that the effort to tarnish and prosecute Trump supporters who showed up in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 as “insurrectionists” was a socialist/ Deep State/ establishment/ mainstream media operation. It was a set-up designed to stigmatize Trump and his supporters as they were lured into the Capitol building.
It was a very “successful” operation on the part of all these nefarious parties involved. They went after many good people and threw them in prison.
NC Renegade reminds us that our own state Attorney General, Josh Stein, aided these efforts according to a Triangle-area TV station. Of course, Stein is now running for governor.
Somehow, our citizenry ought to be convinced that these efforts to imprison NC citizens were a massive political hoax, for the most part, and that Stein was a gleeful participant. This is something that ought to be discussed.
Well said. “Gleeful participant” is particularly apposite. Witnesses of lynchings in the US past (& not just in the South) described the mood as “gleeful.”
