Upcoming Election Recommendations, Part 1

Early voting begins tomorrow.

I will make certain recommendations today, and then tomorrow I will address some of the bigger races. There will be certain contests that we will not address.

Attorney General

Dan Bishop is the far better candidate. I would not under any circumstances vote for Jeff Jackson.

NC Commissioner of Insurance

Mike Causey deserves re-election.

NC Commissioner of Labor

Luke Farley is the much better choice. I would not under any circumstances vote for Braxton Williams II.

NC Superintendent of Public Instruction

Michele Morrow is the best candidate by leaps and bounds. I would not vote under any circumstances for Mo Green.

NC Supreme Court

Jefferson Griffin is the far better choice. I recommend strenuously against voting for Allison Riggs.

NC Court Of Appeals

I recommend voting for the Republican candidates– Tom Murry, Valerie Zachary and Chris Freeman, respectively.

NC State Senate District 27

I recommend voting for Paul Schumacher because Michael Garrett has proved to be awful.

NC House of Representatives, District 62

John Blust is the much better choice in this race. I would not vote for Marjorie Benbow.

Guilford County Board of Commissioners

I would vote for Tony Jacobelli in District 4; Reece Walker in District 5; and Maritza Gomez in District 6. These are the Republican candidates. I would not vote for their opponents– Mary Beth Murphy, Carly Cooke and Brandon Gray-Hill– who are aligned with the democratic socialist party. The orgy of big spending and higher taxes we have seen in Guilford County needs to be opposed; and I suggest voting for the 3 Republicans hopefully toward that end. Gray-Hill specifically identifies as the LGBT, progressive candidate.

Guilford County Board of Education

I would vote for Michael Logan in District 3; Cara Dohner in District 5; and Karen Albright in District 7– the Republican candidates. Of concern is the fact that I have seen loads of yard signs in my neighborhood for Bill Goebel, the “unaffiliated” candidate running on behalf of the local education establishment, who opposes the more conservative Logan.

Constitutional Amendment

I would vote FOR the proposed constitutional amendment clarifying that only citizens can vote in the state of North Carolina (i.e., not illegal aliens).

Guilford County Local Sales and Use Tax

The socialists on the County Commissioners’ Board want to raise the sales tax to pay for their grand spending designs. I would vote AGAINST this tax increase.

  1. Yes, TC, anxiously waiting for recommendation in the Governors race. Betcha a quarter it will be Randall Terry. Randall Terry.

      1. Dave Boliek is probably the better choice in the NC Auditor race, Mike, but I don’t regard him as a star.

With regard to the Lt. Governor race, there are two potential choices– Hal Weatherman, the Republican candidate, and Wayne Jones, the Constitution Party candidate. I am leaning toward Weatherman because his responses on the NCFPC questionnaire were much better than Jones’.
