Governor-Elect Josh Stein Won’t Deport Illegals

An interesting article at Carolina Journal suggests that Josh Stein won’t commit to acquiescing with efforts Trump might initiate to deport illegals.

He claims to support the deportation of criminal illegal aliens. But then he conveniently overlooks the fact that some North Carolina sheriffs have been refusing to cooperate with ICE at the federal level; and in fact, that this had been taking place while he was state Attorney General.

It should be noted that Stein is a Reform Jew. On the website for Reform Judaism, there is a page specifically dedicated to “immigration justice” suggesting that the “rights” of illegal immigrants must be protected.

I have reported here previously the nearly century-long effort on the part of the American Jewish community to loosen immigration requirements and admit immigrants– legal and illegal– from all parts of the world. They had various motives for engaging in this aggressive advocacy.

In fact, Stein has sought to govern in accordance with his Reform Jewish worldview; and admitted as much during an appearance at a Greensboro synagogue several years ago. This likely explains why he joined so many lawsuits in opposition to what Trump was trying to achieve regarding immigration during his first term.

Of course, these issues did not nearly get aired out during the gubernatorial campaign.

  1. Stein believes that “law-abiding” illegal aliens (whose very presence is evidence they committed a federal crime) are different from illegal aliens who have actually committed crimes.

    Huh??
