Cecil Brockman Upsets The Media/ Left Complex

There has been a flurry of stories in the regional mainstream media highlighting the conflict between Democratic NC House member Cecil Brockman and others within his party. Brockman missed the recent vote that overrode Governor Cooper’s veto of the bill that took powers away from the Governor and State Attorney General.

Brockman had been “primaried” by the socialists during the 2024 election season. They were very unhappy with him because he has voted against them at times. But he survived his primary. He represents a district that includes High Point and Jamestown.

When he was first elected to the General Assembly, the media was delighted with the fact that he was reportedly bisexual. He attributes missing the recent vote to mental health issues.

He is now issuing a not-so-veiled threat to the socialists. In the upcoming session, they are able to sustain the governor’s vetoes– but only by one vote. If he were to flip to the Republicans, the Republicans’ majority would become veto-proof once again.

This is an object lesson, however. The socialists and their accomplices in the media are merciless when one of their own wanders off the reservation. However, it is extremely common for Republicans to deviate from voting conservatively. Republican legislators do this all the time. It is fairly routine for them.

I don’t know whether Brockman will change parties. But the Republicans have a “big tent”– they accept liberals, moderates, LGBT, whatever. That would be nothing new.

    1. I don’t know whether he wills switch parties, Fred, but I seem to recall he has voted with the Republicans on a number of issues. The socialists believe in party discipline, however. The Republicans in Washington do not.
