Expanding Or Promoting IVF Is A Moral And Ethical Error

The second Trump presidency has been strikingly good overall thus far. He has advanced a few bad proposals, however. One was made public today to use the power of the federal government to promote and expand in vitro fertilization. This procedure creates multiple human embryos, some of which die or will be necessarily killed off:

  1. this executive order must have ben pushed by the abortion lobby. But I am at a loss as to why he even listen to them.

    1. It’s a complex witch’s brew. It’s Trump and his fellow Republicans falling to the Stockholm Syndrome, adopting the position of their persecutors. The progressive left says shame on you if you limit a woman’s reproductive choices. And so, this was an easy thing to compromise. Add to that the pain of so many infertile couples who want kids, and the perception you are only empathetic toward them if you allow IVF. It is buying their votes and inoculating from criticism.

      These are all motivations that fall short of what is right, unfortunately.
