Tom DiLorenzo has a great article about Abe Lincoln. It is very much worth reading.
I have seen elsewhere advocacy for the premise that Presidents’ Day ought to be eliminated, and that we need to restore Washington’s Birthday as a national holiday. It makes a lot of sense to me. Washington was a great man– in fact, the indispensable man in our nation’s founding.
Lincoln does not deserve to be celebrated with a national holiday.

Wow, that’s neat, Fred! I remember February 22 was a holiday when I was a kid.
My wife, Marilyn, and granddaughter, Teagan, were also born on February 22!
Wow, John, that’s a great day for the Lauritzen family! Tell Marilyn we said early happy birthday.
