Jeff Jackson– the “pretty boy” state Attorney General North Carolina voters elected in November– is comparable to John Edwards’ emergence nearly 25 years ago. These were telegenic candidates who could appeal to unthinking female voters; and who could camouflage their extremism by seeming to be moderate.
It was very interesting that the News and Observer ran an op-ed piece that took shots at Jackson. It points out that he regards the office of state Attorney General as a political stepping stone to higher office; and that he engages in political posturing by joining socialist lawsuits against the Trump Administration in part to curry favor with big donors.
The article referred to him being regarded as a “show horse”, implying he is not a work horse. But it also states he is the North Carolinian with the best shot to become president of the United States one day.
Joe Pearlman at Carolina Journal points out that he is taking a stand for big spending— and big government inefficiency– by suing the Trump Administration over Elon Musk’s DOGE.
Let’s face it. The Democrats are going to use every trick to frustrate and hamper Trump’s agenda . We can’t let them get away with this obstruction. I am praying that SCOTUS will drive a stake through the heart of these impediments .
Unfortunately, Fred, these suits take a long time to weave their way through the system. The Supreme Court could step in if it has the desire to do so.
