Readers will recall that Matthew Queen is a former pastor at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church in Greensboro, and that he was unjustly pursued by the FBI over an alleged sexual abuse incident at Southwestern Seminary where he once had an administrative position.
Biden’s FBI was hot to go after the Southern Baptist Convention over sexual abuse allegations. Queen is the only person who was sentenced in the whole denomination as a consequence. And his sentence was announced to be six months of house arrest.
The sexual abuse incident had been appropriately reported to local law enforcement. The FBI has absolutely no constitutional authority to pursue charges such as this against employees of a Christian institution on matters that are not properly among the federal government’s enumerated powers.
But they pursued this man intensely, and trapped him in such a manner that he allegedly somehow lied or provided false information under intense duress.
The article indicates he became suicidal at a certain point during the ordeal. This was all so unnecessary and inappropriate. Read the article to learn how he was placed in a job at the seminary for which he felt unprepared; how he felt he was not permitted to discuss the matter; and how he felt he was not personally represented by an attorney looking after his own interests.
Meanwhile, nobody else at the Southern Baptist Convention level was charged even though sexual abuse became highly politicized, and even though the Convention spent huge amounts of money to deal with the issue, and had outright accused some people within the Convention of abuse.
This guy is a victim of the Biden Administration’s malicious pursuit of Southern Baptists in the service of radical feminism. They had to have someone to charge, and he became that person.
He, indeed, became a targeted scapegoat. But he also was a victim of the manner in which this was handled by the seminary that employed him, and by the Convention itself.
All we can do do for Pastor Queen is pray for his good mental health.
He ought to be a great candidate for a full, unrestricted, unconditional Trump pardon, Fred, with full restitution.
