This is yet another reason for parents to restrict sharply kids’ access to the internet. There are messages here for adults also. It is pretty horrifying:

This lady is suing the artificial intelligence company, Character.AI, and Google, claiming that the Character.AI chatbot encouraged her son to take his own life.
This reminds me so much of the Heavens Gate ( Hale Bopp ) when 39 members committed suicide. HBO did a documentary on the cult (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven%27s_Gate:_The_Cult_of_Cults)
What is worrisome, Fred, is that there are a number of comparable situations. I read yesterday about some type of social media platform or app that allows kids in school to plan to lay a beating on another kid they select for that beating.
